Training Outbound

TOP can help you find a placement in horticulture, agriculture, oenology and turfgrass sciences outside of the United States. Typical internship lasts from 3 to 12 months. Our partnership network includes these countries:

  • Germany

  • Netherlands

  • United Kingdom

  • Australia

  • France

  • Denmark

TOP's Responsibilities

  • Pre-screen and promote applicants to international partner organizations

  • Help prepare required documentation based on the destination country

  • Brief the applicant on procedures and available placements

  • Assist and advise on insurance, travel, visa etc.

Fees & Costs

*Attention: fees and costs vary among target countries and length of internship. The cost of health insurance will be different too. Typically, these following costs should be considered:

  • TOP application fee, currently $350

  • Partner organization fee, starting about $300

  • Visa fee and work permit fees, $0-$250

  • Health insurance, $2-$4 per day

  • Travel expenses, $500-$2000

Wages & Scholarships

Interns could receive remuneration or wages from host compaines, which varies by country. The specific type of your internship depends on your qualifications, education and experience.
Scholarships are available: OSU students may use STEP funding as TOP is STEP approved. Horticulture students are encouraged to apply for scholarships via American Floral Endowment.
